Our Story
“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.”
— Romans 8:28
Will is the dreamer behind Lavada, the one who saw an opportunity to do things differently in an industry that needed it. But his path here wasn’t straightforward.
Will grew up in rural Tennessee. Life wasn’t easy, but it taught him the value of hard work. After his parents separated at a young age, he worked through high school to help pay bills and self-funded his way through school at Middle Tennessee State University, earning a degree in Aeronautical Science. He built a successful corporate career, checking every box that should have meant fulfillment.
But somewhere along the way, the achievements no longer fulfilled a purpose. After rediscovering his faith, Will started asking a bigger question: How do you build something that serves people, not just profits? That’s when he noticed the residential cleaning industry was fragmented, inconsistent, and unprofessional; he realized he could do it better.
Meanwhile, 1,200 miles away in South Florida, Sophia had just turned down a college scholarship. After nineteen years in the same small community, she wasn’t sure what she wanted to study or even if college was the right path. So she made a decision that surprised everyone, including herself: she moved to Texas to find her direction.
It was supposed to be temporary. In the meantime, she took a serving job at a neighborhood restaurant, where she quickly became known for her warmth and steadiness under pressure.
That’s where she met Will and his family, who became regulars. Over time, friendly service turned into genuine friendship.
Shortly after, Will approached Sophia with an idea; plans to discuss a business partnership.
Will’s vision: a cleaning company that treats people right, both customers and employees, while giving back to the community in a meaningful way. Will didn’t choose her for her résumé. He chose her because of who she was: hardworking, genuine, detail-oriented, and already trusted by their neighbors.
Today, Sophia runs daily operations while Will handles growth and strategy. Together, they’re serving families in nearby communities. Lavada is a local business built on reliability, care, and the belief that when the right people come together at the right time, something meaningful happens.
